Butoh Dancer/Actor/Director In 1980, Started Butoh dance in Dairakudakan.
Later, joined the Butoh dance troupe called ”Dance Love Machine”. In 1983, started solo dance performances. Since then, performed dance/acting for his own work or other dance/theater company performances in France, Spain, Korea, U.S., Australia, Poland, Czech Republic and other countries as well as in Japan. In addtion to avant-garde works, joined many collaboration works with Kabuki, Kyogen, or Japanese traditional dance performances. As an actor, joined many theatrical works written/directed by Masakatsu Gunji, Rio Kishida, Yukichi Matsumoto, Kim Ara. Also produced his own theatrical works as “Masamichi Shibasaki Project”. Shibasaki established his own dance style synthesized Butoh, martial arts and qigong technique.
